As of September 10, 2026, the theoretical production gross profit of pure acrylic emulsion this week was RMB 349/mt, up RMB 94.5/mt, or 37.13%, week on week. The theoretical production gross profit of styrene-acrylic emulsion was -RMB 514.16/mt, down RMB 63.6/mt, or 14.12%, week on week. This was mainly because butyl acrylate and styrene feedstock prices moved higher during the week, continuing to pressure the cost side for styrene-acrylic emulsion and narrowing the profitability of acrylic emulsions.

Profit: Production profit calculated on the basis of pure acrylic and styrene-acrylic emulsion prices, i.e., the profit remaining after deducting total costs and additional expenses (excluding financial expenses) from the pure acrylic and styrene-acrylic emulsion prices.

    Pure acrylic margin rose while styrene-acrylic stayed negative on feedstock cost pressure. I expect producers to watch capacity utilization and favor pure acrylic grades until butyl acrylate and styrene ease.
