I. Key Focus Points
Oct 22: Market concerns regarding potential escalation of the US-Iran conflict, compounded by Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia increasing supply risks, drove international crude oil prices higher. NYMEX WTI crude oil futures (December contract) closed at $99.47/bbl, up $2.32/bbl (+2.39% DoD); ICE Brent crude oil futures (December contract) closed at $113.17/bbl, up $4.35/bbl (+4.00% DoD). China INE crude oil futures (December 2026 contract) rose by CNY 1.2 to CNY 702/bbl during the day session and gained CNY 11.2 to CNY 713.2/bbl in the night session.
Yesterday, the domestic MMA market center shifted upward. Recent inventory holders saw decent sales volumes, and cost pressures persisted, leading to higher quoted prices in the market. Downstream procurement remained primarily driven by rigid demand. The short-term outlook for the domestic MMA market is bullish.
Yesterday, the domestic butyl acrylate market continued its downward trend. While upstream propylene prices rose and trading centers moved higher, feedstocks n-butanol and acrylic acid remained weak due to limited follow-on demand. Consequently, cost support for butyl acrylate weakened. Inventory holders adjusted quotes according to market conditions, with some offering discounts to facilitate sales. Downstream users focused mainly on consuming existing inventories and fulfilling contracts, with limited proactive purchasing. As a result, the market trading center continued to decline. Today, the butyl acrylate market is expected to remain weak and consolidate. Future attention should be paid to market supply changes and raw material price fluctuations.

III. Market Outlook
Yesterday, the raw material butyl acrylate trended downward, styrene continued to rise, and the MMA market edged slightly higher. Cost-side pressure increased. Acrylic emulsion factories maintained stable pricing while actively boosting sales volumes. Downstream users followed with small orders based on rigid demand, keeping market transactions steady. Today, the overall raw material market is expected to remain at high levels, with anticipated increases in cost pressure. Acrylic emulsion factories and traders will focus on maintaining stable prices and increasing sales volume, negotiating deals order-by-order. The acrylic emulsion market is projected to run steadily. Future attention should be paid to developments in raw materials such as butyl acrylate, MMA, and styrene, as well as downstream market dynamics.
