Fangda Carbon Achieves Mass Supply of 6N-Grade Graphite, Replacing Imports

on Sep 17, 2026

Fangda Carbon announced at its September 17 performance briefing that its 6N-grade graphite, primarily used in fiber optics and semiconductors, is now supplied...

SiC projects rarely fail because engineers question whether to use SiC; they fail in implementation. Three challenges dominate. First, device selection mismatch: choosing between 400V, 650V and 750V CoolSiC MOSFET platforms requires matching the voltage class to the actual…

SiC's value in EVs goes far beyond replacing silicon IGBTs. In the main inverter, SiC modules improve system efficiency by about 5% versus IGBTs. Automakers can either extend range by 5% with the same battery pack, or cut battery capacity by 5% for the same range. On an 80 kWh…

The cost gap is structural, not technical. A 6-inch SiC wafer costs about USD 1,200 to make in the Czech Republic versus roughly USD 400 in China. Three factors drive this: electricity prices, since SiC crystal growth runs at around 2,300°C for days and consumes 5-10 times more…
