March 17 — Recently, the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Online Investment Project Approval Service Hall released a filing announcement for the project of Chifeng Tianlong New Material Technology Co., Ltd., which involves the annual production of 150,000 tons of high-precision, high-performance ceramic raw material silicon carbide ultrafine powder. The project will include the construction of four 40,000 KVA silicon carbide ultrafine powder smelting furnaces, production facilities for high-purity silicon carbide ultrafine powder, high-purity submicron silicon carbide fine powder, and waste gas utilization equipment. Supporting facilities such as desulfurization and dust removal systems will also be installed. The annual production capacity for high-precision, high-performance ceramic raw material silicon carbide ultrafine powder will be 150,000 tons.
Chempricehub Analysis on Silicon Carbide, Bull-Bear Score: -1
This project plans to establish a new production line with an annual capacity of 150,000 tons of silicon carbide ultrafine powder, including smelting furnaces and production facilities, significantly increasing market supply. The expansion on the supply side may exert downward pressure on spot prices of silicon carbide, as the current market supply-demand balance could be disrupted, particularly in the field of high-performance ceramic raw materials. Considering the large scale of the project, but with no mention of synchronous growth in demand or expansion of downstream applications in the article, the rating is generally bearish.
