Weekly Statistical Data on Production Profit of Octanol Samples in China (October 30 – November 5, 2026)

Published on 2026-11-05

According to data from Chempricehub, the theoretical gross margin for octanol this week was 35 yuan/ton, an increase of 51 yuan/ton compared to last week. The price of propylene feedstock surged and then retreated during the week, causing significant fluctuations in production costs. From last Friday through early this week, severe cost inversion occurred for octanol producers.

In the Shandong region, octanol market prices followed cost trends but remained within a narrow fluctuation range. By Thursday, Shandong octanol markets were trading near the cost line.

Propylene volatility squeezed margins, but the 51 yuan/ton rebound offers relief. With Shandong prices stabilizing near cost lines, I expect tight capacity utilization to persist as producers navigate this narrow profit ..
