  1. Spot Market Overview

Table 1: Summary of Domestic DBP Industry Chain Prices (Unit: Yuan/Ton)

Product Market Previous Period Current Period Change Change Rate
DBP Shandong 11300 11250 -50 -0.44%
Henan 10900 10850 -50 -0.46%
North China 11000 10900 -100 -0.91%
South China 11100 11000 -100 -0.90%
Key Upstream Phthalic Anhydride (Naphthalene Process) Hebei 10000 9800 -200
n-Butanol Shandong 8450 8400 -50

Taking the Henan region as the benchmark, today’s DBP closed at 10,850–10,900 yuan/ton, consistent with morning expectations. Today, domestic DBP market prices softened and declined, with increased wait-and-see sentiment. It is reported that raw materials phthalic anhydride and n-butanol have continued to fall, weakening cost support for DBP prices. Meanwhile, downstream demand was limited to essential purchases at lower levels, with cautious trading behavior resulting in sluggish inquiries and transactions.

  1. Production Dynamics

Today, the domestic DBP capacity utilization rate was 38%. With falling prices for raw materials phthalic anhydride and n-butanol, the current profitability level for DBP products is approximately 871 yuan/ton.

  1. Price Forecast

Currently, both raw material prices are declining, leading to weaker cost support for DBP. Downstream buyers are primarily making essential purchases at lower price points, while market inquiries and transactions have slowed. Consequently, the DBP market is expected to remain volatile and weak in the near term.

  1. Related Products

DOP Market: Today, as the price of the raw material 2-EH (2-ethylhexanol) declined, DOP market prices followed a downward trend. Approaching the weekend, merchants actively sought to sell inventory. In the afternoon, upstream propylene prices rose significantly, which moderately boosted buying sentiment among DOP merchants. As traders replenished short positions, transactions improved for some low-priced goods.

DBP prices slid 50-100 yuan/ton amid a low 38% capacity utilization. Falling feedstock costs for phthalic anhydride and n-butanol eroded margin support, while cautious downstream demand keeps the market volatile and weak..
