Weekly Statistical Data on Production Profit Margins for n-Butanol Samples in China (October 30 – November 5, 2026)

Published on 2026-11-05

According to data from Chempricehub, the weekly average profit margin for n-butanol this week stood at -162 RMB/ton, an improvement of 17 RMB/ton compared to the previous period. This slight increase in gross margin was primarily driven by the fluctuation in feedstock propylene prices, which surged significantly before declining rapidly in the latter part of the week. Meanwhile, domestic n-butanol market prices experienced a range-bound adjustment. Specifically, the weekly average price of propylene rose by 515 RMB/ton, while the weekly average price of n-butanol increased by 336 RMB/ton.

Methodology Notes:

  • Profit Calculation: The n-butanol profit margin is calculated as the difference between the ex-factory price and the production cost. Chempricehub tracks profits for n-butanol produced via the oxo-synthesis process in the Shandong region.
  • Weekly Average Definition: The "weekly average profit" refers to the mainstream ex-factory gross margin for n-butanol in the Shandong region. The statistical period runs from Friday of the preceding week through Thursday of the current week. Data is released on Thursdays between 13:30 and 17:00 (local time).
