I. Qualitative Analysis of Sample Trends
During the current period (October 8–14, 2026), the profit margin for the C4 extraction process stood at RMB 3,892.42 per ton, a decrease of RMB 245.56 per ton compared to the previous period. The oxidative dehydrogenation process recorded a loss of RMB 15 per ton, while the coal-to-liquids (CTL) process yielded a profit of RMB 1,266.67 per ton. Throughout the week, crude oil and naphtha prices experienced slight increases, leading to modestly higher cost pressures for butadiene production. However, weak downstream demand dragged supplier prices down. Sinopec’s reduction in butadiene pricing further compressed margins for both the extraction and oxidative dehydrogenation processes. Meanwhile, rising feedstock costs negatively impacted the profitability of the CTL process.
Table: Butadiene Production Profit Margins by Process (Unit: RMB/ton)
| Product | Current Period | Previous Period | Change | % Change |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| C4 Extraction | 3,892.42 | 4,137.98 | -245.56 | -5.93% |
| Oxidative Dehydrogenation | -15.00 | -- | -- | -- |
| Coal-to-Liquids (CTL) | 1,266.67 | -- | -- | -- |

II. Forecast Analysis of Sample Trends
Currently, domestic supply is expected to increase, offering limited support to market conditions. With downstream demand recovering slowly, butadiene production profits are projected to see a slight contraction.
III. Comparison of Sample Trends and Prices
