This period, the fluorite market experienced range-bound fluctuations with limited volatility. The October market for 97% fluorite concentrate was characterized by indecision and regional divergence in performance. In northern China, dropping temperatures led to increased production costs, while downstream enterprises initiated winter stockpiling, resulting in strong price-holding sentiment among some sellers and a slight upward shift in transaction prices toward the end of the month. However, as supply-side participants reported sluggish sales and adopted a bearish long-term outlook, market participation remained low. In southern China, stakeholders have gradually become desensitized to low mining operating rates, aided by supplementary supply from the north. Meanwhile, high sulfuric acid prices squeezed downstream margins, intensifying buyers’ pressure to lower prices. Consequently, transaction levels trended downward amid ongoing supply-demand tensions.
The fluorite price index is projected to reach 3,650 yuan/ton in November, representing a month-on-month decrease of 75 yuan/ton (down 2.01%), indicating a downward trend within the range. Fluorite and anhydrous hydrofluoric acid are expected to exhibit divergent market trajectories in November. Although anhydrous hydrofluoric acid prices are anticipated to rise further due to constrained supply and stable demand, fluorite prices are unlikely to follow suit. This disconnect stems primarily from sustained downward expectations imposed on fluorite by downstream sectors over recent months, compounded by persistent high sulfuric acid prices that reinforce buyer pressure to negotiate lower prices.
