Using East China as the benchmark, butyl acrylate closed at 9250 CNY/ton today, up 50 CNY/ton from the previous working day. Affected by the sharp rise in raw propylene, feedstock prices continued to trend upward, intensifying cost pressure on butyl acrylate. Under cost pressure, butyl acrylate holders quoted cautiously, and low-priced offers decreased. Holders actively supported the market and maintained firm high-priced offers. Some downstream plants followed up with need-based purchases, the transaction atmosphere was acceptable, and actual traded prices moved higher amid fluctuations.

Production Update

Today, the domestic butyl acrylate capacity utilization rate was 56.98%, flat compared with the previous working day.

Price Forecast

The butyl acrylate market continued to rise today. Feedstock n-butanol posted broad gains, increasing cost pressure, and market sentiment remained largely wait-and-see. Butyl acrylate is highly likely to remain firm at high levels tomorrow.

Related Product Markets

n-Butanol market: In Jiangsu, the reference n-butanol price was 8500-8500 CNY/ton ex-warehouse. The market price center rose significantly. With raw propylene increasing sharply, cost-side support strengthened; downstream buying interest improved, spot supply remained limited, and the overall transaction center moved upward.

Acrylic acid market: Price discussions in the East China acrylic acid market were indicated at 7700-7800 CNY/ton, up 100 CNY/ton from the previous working day. The domestic acrylic acid market remained firm today. Raw propylene surged broadly, notably increasing cost pressure. Acrylic acid plants and holders offered flexibly. Downstream sentiment was cautious, with some buyers seeking suitable prices for need-based purchases; actual-order negotiations trended upward amid fluctuations.

Ethyl acrylate market: Discussions in the East China ethyl acrylate market were conducted at 10400-10600 CNY/ton, flat from the previous working day. The ethyl acrylate market consolidated at high levels today. Feedstock prices rose slightly, and with some plants shut down for maintenance, spot supply was limited. Ethyl acrylate plants and holders actively supported the market. Some downstream buyers, including textile auxiliaries and leather auxiliaries producers, followed up on need-based demand, and the negotiation center remained firm at high levels.

Methyl acrylate market: In East China today, methyl acrylate offers were around 9300-9400 CNY/ton, up 50 CNY/ton from the previous working day. The methyl acrylate market rose amid fluctuations today. On the feedstock side, methanol continued its upward trend while acrylic acid oscillated at high levels, sustaining cost-side support. Plants and holders maintained high-priced offers. Downstream plants made limited need-based purchases and partly drew on contracted volumes. Actual-order negotiations moved up at high levels.

Rising n-butanol costs are squeezing butyl acrylate margins even with firm offers, while low capacity utilization keeps supply tight—need-based downstream buying should support near-term firmness.
