Morning Market Brief: Aniline

Published on 2026-10-28
  1. Key Points

Pure Benzene: Multiple parties continue to push for a de-escalation of tensions in the Middle East, alleviating concerns over supply risks and leading to a decline in international crude oil prices. The ICE Brent December futures contract fell by USD 1.93/bbl to USD 113.88/bbl. Yesterday’s weakening crude oil market significantly dampened sentiment in the East China market. Shandong producers maintained floor-price selling; however, given that crude oil prices remained firm during the morning session, early trading today is expected to open lower with a wait-and-see attitude.

Currently, the tug-of-war between supply and demand in the market has intensified. Available circulating inventory remains tight, while downstream buyers largely maintain rigid-demand purchasing. A small number of clients remain in a stalemate, adopting a wait-and-see approach. Attention should be paid to the latest progress regarding the return of facilities that underwent prior maintenance shutdowns.

With Brent sliding on Middle East de-escalation, aniline margins are surprisingly expanding despite lower capacity utilization. This decoupling from crude volatility is interesting to watch, as stable spot prices suggest..
