Published on 2026-07-10
  1. As of July 15, 2026, the total arrival volume of ethylene glycol in East China stood at 53,500 tons, comprising 31,500 tons at Zhangjiagang, 8,500 tons at Taicang, and 13,500 tons at Jiangyin. However, some vessel arrivals may be delayed recently due to typhoon weather.

  2. As of July 9, total ethylene glycol inventory at East China main ports reached 427,500 tons, down 24,500 tons from the previous period. The breakdown is as follows: Zhangjiagang 174,500 tons, Taicang 166,000 tons, Jiangyin and Changzhou 44,000 tons, and Shanghai and Changshu 43,000 tons. In terms of shipments, daily average off-take during the period was 4,100 tons at Zhangjiagang and approximately 3,000 tons at Taicang.

  3. A 300,000 tons/year syngas-based ethylene glycol unit in Shanxi was shut down early this week due to insufficient upstream feedstock gas; the restart timeline is undetermined. The unit had previously been operating at around 50% capacity.

The inventory drawdown and Shanxi plant shutdown signal tighter supply, but feedstock cost pressure may keep capacity utilization cautious.
