Ethanol Plant Centralized Maintenance; Spot Market Support Strengthens

Published on 2026-11-04

Chempricehub, November 4 –

Recent concentrated maintenance of ethanol plants has led to a contraction in circulating supply:

  • Guangxi COFCO’s 200,000-ton/year molasses-based ethanol unit is undergoing maintenance.
  • Shandong Hengxin’s 500,000-ton/year coal-to-ethanol unit remains under maintenance until mid-November.
  • Henan Huaxing has recently completed maintenance and resumed production.
  • Cassava-based ethanol producers continue to operate at low utilization rates due to prolonged losses.

As a result, the spot circulation volume of fermentation-grade ethanol has tightened temporarily. Spot supplies are relatively constrained in certain production regions, with plant operators reluctant to sell, thereby supporting floor prices for spot transactions.
