Weekly Statistical Data of n-Butanol Sample Production Profit in China (2026-08-21 to 2026-08-27)

Published on 2026-08-27

This week, the weekly average profit for n-butanol stood at 631 yuan/ton, up 569 yuan/ton from the previous cycle. This was mainly because feedstock propylene prices first rose and then fell, while n-butanol prices surged amid support from tight supply, leading to a substantial increase in profit margins.

Sample description:

The n-butanol profit is calculated as the difference between the ex-factory price and the production cost of n-butanol. Chempricehub tracks the profit of n-butanol produced via the carbonyl synthesis process in the Shandong region.

Chempricehub's weekly average n-butanol profit refers to the mainstream ex-factory gross profit in the Shandong region. The statistical period runs from Friday of the previous week to Thursday of the current week, with data released every working Thursday from 13:30 to 17:00.

The sharp profit rebound to 631 yuan/ton shows how tight supply can overpower feedstock cost swings, but I’d watch propylene stability before assuming margin durability.
