The caprolactam production and capacity utilization figures reported by Chempricehub cover all caprolactam producers in China, encompassing a total of 18 domestic plants, representing 100% sample coverage.
Definitions:
Production Volume: Refers to the actual quantity of goods produced by manufacturing enterprises within a specified period that meets relevant standards. It is measured in terms of weight or volume under defined units of measurement, rather than as a count of individual items—i.e., it represents actual output.
Capacity Utilization Rate: Indicates the extent to which a plant’s production capacity is being used, also known as operating load. It is typically calculated as the ratio of product output or raw material processing volume to effective production capacity.
(Note: At the end of each year, Chempricehub excludes capacities that have been continuously idle for two calendar years or more from its definition of “effective capacity,” classifying them as “zombie capacity.” These excluded capacities are not included in the denominator when calculating capacity utilization rates.)
Statistical Methodology:
Chempricehub’s weekly caprolactam production and capacity utilization data cover the period from Friday of the previous week through Thursday of the current week. Data are released every Thursday at 5:00 PM on working days.
