Weekly Production Margin Statistics for China's C5 Industry Chain Samples (August 28 – September 4, 2026)

Published on 2026-09-04

On September 3, the price of pyrolysis C5 rose by 6.82%, while prices of dicyclopentadiene, isoprene, and piperylene increased by 7.94%, 1.69%, and 4.59%, respectively. The price of pyrolysis C5 raffinate fell by 0.57%. Overall, the decline in raffinate prices and the sharp rise in pyrolysis C5 prices turned the weekly profit into a loss.

Next week, pyrolysis C5 prices are expected to be pushed higher, while pyrolysis C5 raffinate prices have room for downward correction. Therefore, C5 separation profits are expected to continue declining.

Table: Separation profits of the pyrolysis C5 industrial chain

Unit: yuan/ton

Product 9/4 8/27 Change
Pyrolysis C5 (industrial grade) 6738 6308 430
Dicyclopentadiene (polyester grade) 8290 7680 610
Isoprene (polymerization grade) 13188 12969 219
Piperylene (for petroleum resin) 8426 8056 370
Shandong pyrolysis C5 raffinate 8650 8700 -50
C5 separation profit (theoretical) -64 161 -225

The sharp C5 feedstock cost jump with raffinate softening flipped separation margins negative—if this spread persists, downstream capacity utilization will stay under pressure.
