Stearic acid Q3 2026 prices hit quarterly peak on palm oil costs; Q4 correction risk grows

Published on 2026-10-30

Lead: In Q3 2026, the domestic stearic acid market trended upward amid volatility, driven by rising palm-based raw material costs, tight import arrivals, and phased improvements in supply-demand balance. The price center continued to rise, reaching a quarterly high. Grade 1 stearic acid in East China climbed to CNY 10,154/ton, representing a year-on-year increase of 1.11%. In Q4, with limited digestion of domestic and international palm oil inventories remaining at elevated levels, cost support is gradually weakening. Combined with expectations shifting from tight to loose supply-demand dynamics, the stearic acid market faces potential downward correction from current highs.
