Table 1: Summary of Domestic Dimethyl Ether (DME) Prices (Unit: RMB/ton)
| Region | Previous Period | Current Period | Change | Percentage Change |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Shandong | 5,800 | 5,800 | 0 | 0.00% |
| Henan | 5,900 | 5,900 | 0 | 0.00% |
| Southwest China | 5,300 | 5,300 | 0 | 0.00% |
| Northwest China | 5,600 | 5,600 | 0 | 0.00% |
Using the Henan region as the benchmark, DME prices closed today at 5,900 RMB/ton, remaining flat compared to the previous period. The DME market operated steadily today; most producers focused on inventory clearance, while some units maintained low-load operations. Downstream demand was subdued, and traders showed a strong willingness to ship goods out. Chempricehub forecasts that the DME market will continue to consolidate within a range in the short term.
Methanol: Trading sentiment in the domestic methanol market improved slightly today. Futures prices surged but then pulled back. Coastal regions saw tight near-term supply, combined with restocking demand, leading to a strengthening basis during the day. In inland markets, prices stopped falling and rebounded modestly in several areas due to short-covering restocking and essential downstream demand. However, current downstream demand remains average. Additionally, some olefin plants continued to sell raw materials externally, and overall inland supply is gradually becoming looser. Consequently, mid- and downstream buyers remain cautious about chasing price hikes. The market is expected to trend in narrow consolidation in the short term.
