This week, the weekly production volume of industrial cracking C5 remained essentially unchanged from the previous week, with an increase of 0.86%. Output levels varied across enterprises, with some seeing increases and others decreases.
Reasons for production increases:
- Some enterprises plan to conduct maintenance next month and are raising current operating rates in advance.
- Some enterprises have increased ethylene feedstock by raising the proportion of oil-based ethylene, which has improved the yield of cracking C5.
- Some enterprises have increased production due to a larger volume of feedstock delivered via pipelines.
- Some enterprises have raised operating rates after replenishing feedstock.
Reasons for production decreases:
- Some enterprises have reduced operating rates due to technical upgrades.
- Some enterprises experienced fluctuations in feedstock composition, leading to lower output.
Affected by extreme volatility in crude oil and product markets, domestic ethylene maintenance plans have been moved forward. From late May to the end of the month, four ethylene enterprises will successively enter maintenance. The enterprises undergoing maintenance are mainly concentrated in South China, Central China, and East China. Gulei Petrochemical has been under maintenance since March 9, with a possibility of restart.
