Published on 2026-11-05

According to data from Chempricehub on November 5, the current weekly average cost of vinyl acetate produced via the calcium carbide method in China is estimated at 6,581.9 yuan/ton. The unit consumption of vinyl acetate required to produce one ton of polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) ranges from approximately 1.7 to 1.9 tons. Consequently, the theoretical weekly average cost of PVA stands at 8,095.61 yuan/ton. Based on the listed price of Great Wall Energy & Chemical’s grade 1799, the theoretical gross margin—including crude methyl acetate—is calculated at 4,604.39 yuan/ton.
