Chempricehub, November 6 Report
On November 6, the phthalic anhydride (PA) market in Shandong Province trended downward. The mainstream negotiated quotes for PA produced via the ortho-xylene process stood at RMB 10,300–10,400 per tonne, while those for PA produced via the naphthalene process were quoted at RMB 9,800–9,900 per tonne. Crude oil prices fluctuated and declined, weakening cost support. Raw material prices also fell: ortho-xylene prices dropped, and industrial naphthalene prices fluctuated downward, leading to a reduction in overall production costs for PA. Meanwhile, the downstream plasticizer market experienced volatile declines. Operating rates at PA plants increased, maintaining stable market supply. Although operating rates at plasticizer enterprises recovered, the essential demand support for PA weakened, resulting in a downward trajectory for the PA market.
