Ningxia’s 15th Five-Year Plan Promotes Carbon Reduction and Energy Project Construction

Chempricehub, September 16 — Ningxia has issued the "15th Five-Year Plan for Building a Beautiful Ningxia," proposing to steadily advance carbon peak goals. The plan calls for promoting energy conservation and carbon reduction retrofits in the thermal power and steel industries, and implementing demonstration projects such as Phase II of the 3 million tons/year CCUS (Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage) project in Ningdong. It also includes launching a regional pilot for hydrogen energy in Ningdong, constructing 20 GW of new energy storage capacity, completing low-carbon retrofits for 2 GW of coal-fired power units, and advancing the development of the Qingshimaо and Dingbei trillion-cubic-meter-class gas fields.
