Morning Market Note on Industrial C10 Crude Aromatics

Published on 2026-10-15

I. Key Focus Points

  1. Crude Oil: Houthi attacks on Saudi energy facilities have heightened market concerns regarding supply risks, driving up international crude oil prices. NYMEX WTI crude oil futures (November contract) closed at 95.09 USD/barrel, an increase of 0.95 USD/barrel (+1.01% WoW). ICE Brent crude oil futures (December contract) closed at 106.06 USD/barrel, an increase of 0.37 USD/barrel (+0.35% WoW). China INE crude oil futures (December 2026 contract) rose by 14.5 to 746.5 CNY/barrel in the day session, but fell by 17 to 729.5 CNY/barrel in the night session.

  2. Downstream High-Boiling Aromatic Solvents: Prices experienced a slight decline.

Core Logic: Crude oil futures posted a modest gain. Downstream high-boiling aromatic solvent markets lacked upward momentum, while the industrial C10 heavy aromatics market remained largely stable.

III. Market Outlook

International crude oil prices edged higher. On the demand side, downstream high-boiling aromatic solvent markets maintained steady shipment rhythms, with raw material purchases driven primarily by rigid demand. The C10 market is expected to remain stable today.

Geopolitical risks are pushing up feedstock costs, yet weak downstream demand keeps high-boiling aromatics flat. This divergence squeezes margins for producers like me. We’re watching capacity utilization closely; if so..
