Morning Market Insights for Acrylic Emulsion

Published on 2026-10-29

I. Key Focus Points

  1. Oct 28: Market concerns over escalating US-Iran conflict risks, combined with continued Houthi attacks on Saudi energy facilities, drove international crude oil prices higher. NYMEX December crude futures rose by $2.88/bbl to $102.78 (+2.88% WoW); ICE Brent December futures increased by $1.44/bbl to $115.32 (+1.26% WoW). China INE December 2026 crude futures fell by 9.2 yuan/bbl to 722.4 during the day session but rebounded by 15.1 yuan/bbl to 737.5 in the night session.

  2. Yesterday, the domestic MMA market remained stable. Holders maintained firm offers, with no significant changes in news or fundamentals. As the month-end approaches, market sentiment is largely wait-and-see, and buying activity has not shown notable expansion. The short-term outlook for the domestic MMA market suggests a consolidation phase.

  3. Yesterday, the domestic Butyl Acrylate (BA) market continued its volatile upward trend. Upstream raw materials—n-butanol and acrylic acid—remained firm, strengthening cost support for BA. Holders adjusted offers in line with market conditions, gradually pushing prices higher. Some downstream users responded to rigid demand, primarily focusing on digesting existing inventory and fulfilling contract obligations; active spot procurement was limited. Consequently, the transaction center of gravity continued to rise. Today, the BA market is expected to remain firm. Key focus should be placed on supply dynamics and fluctuations in upstream raw material prices.

III. Market Outlook

Yesterday, upstream raw material Butyl Acrylate (BA) trended upward, Styrene weakened slightly within a narrow range, and the MMA market stabilized. Cost-side support remains present. Acrylic emulsion factories and holders offered stable prices, while downstream users purchased based on actual needs, resulting in steady market negotiations. Today, raw material markets are expected to maintain high-level consolidation, keeping cost pressure strong. Acrylic emulsion producers are likely to offer stable prices to facilitate sales, with downstream users continuing to procure as needed. The acrylic emulsion market is projected to remain stable. Future attention should be directed toward dynamics in BA, MMA, Styrene, and downstream markets.

Rising crude oil and firm acrylic acid feedstock costs are squeezing margins for Butyl Acrylate producers. While MMA stabilizes, downstream demand remains cautious ahead of month-end. Persistent geopolitical risks could ..
