Morning Market Insights for Acrylic Emulsion

Published on 2026-10-27

I. Key Points

  1. October 26: Mediators continue to promote US-Iran peace talks, slightly easing market concerns about supply risks, leading to a decline in international crude oil prices. NYMEX WTI December futures closed at $101.76/bbl, down $1.51/bbl (-1.46% WoW); ICE Brent December futures closed at $115.81/bbl, down $0.91/bbl (-0.78% WoW). INE Crude Oil Futures contract SC2612 rose by 22.7 to 739.7 CNY/bbl during the day session and fell by 6.4 to 733.3 CNY/bbl in the night session.

  2. Domestic MMA prices rose yesterday. With some raw material prices increasing and cost pressures remaining high, market offers continued to climb, making low-priced goods scarce. Downstream users remained cautious about chasing highs, adopting a "buy-as-needed" strategy. Low-priced offers are expected to remain scarce in the domestic MMA market in the short term.

  3. The domestic butyl acrylate (BA) market fluctuated upward yesterday. Upstream raw materials n-butanol and acrylic acid rebounded upwards, driven by significant gains in propylene. This increased cost pressure on BA. BA holders adjusted their offers according to market trends, with low-priced offers gradually disappearing. As old and new contracts transitioned, downstream users primarily focused on consuming existing inventory and fulfilling contracted volumes, resulting in limited active purchasing. Consequently, the market transaction center shifted higher. The BA market is expected to maintain an upward trend today, with attention needed on supply conditions and raw material price fluctuations.

(Note: "丙烯酸异辛酯" is typically translated as Isodecyl Acrylate or 2-Ethylhexyl Acrylate depending on specific industry context; here translated as 2-EHA for clarity in chemical markets, though literally it refers to Iso-octyl acrylate which is often grouped with 2-EHA in broader esters categories. Standard translation for 异辛酯 is 2-Ethylhexyl Acrylate).

III. Market Outlook

Yesterday, the markets for key raw materials—butyl acrylate, styrene, and MMA—all showed upward trends, increasing cost-side pressure. Acrylic emulsion manufacturers and holders actively supported market prices, while downstream users purchased based on actual demand. Consequently, the market transaction center moved slightly higher. It is anticipated that the raw material market may still have room to rise today. Cost support will bolster market confidence, likely leading acrylic emulsion producers to maintain firm offers. Downstream users are expected to continue with "buy-as-needed" strategies. The acrylic emulsion market is projected to operate strongly. Future developments should focus on dynamics in the BA, MMA, and styrene raw material markets as well as downstream sectors.

With crude easing but MMA and BA rising, acrylic emulsion faces tight feedstock costs. Downstream demand remains cautious as users stick to buy-as-needed strategies, squeezing margins despite higher transaction centers. ..
