The domestic market for 97% fluorspar concentrate powder remained generally weak today. Market sentiment is heavily influenced by wait-and-see attitudes, primarily because downstream hydrogen fluoride pricing negotiations are imminent. Although there is a bullish atmosphere driven by expectations of objective price increases supporting fluorspar producers' optimism, sulfuric acid costs are exerting some downward pressure. Major northern plants have not yet provided clear information regarding their resumption of operations. Currently, downstream enterprises are mainly consuming high-grade fluorspar concentrate. Rigid demand consumption combined with winter stockpiling supports producer sentiment. Current delivered spot prices in various domestic regions are referenced as follows: Inner Mongolia at 3,300–3,400 CNY/ton; Zhejiang at 3,500–3,600 CNY/ton; Jiangxi and Fujian at 3,700–3,750 CNY/ton; Shandong at 3,500–3,600 CNY/ton; Northwest regions at 3,250–3,350 CNY/ton; Henan and Anhui at 3,250–3,350 CNY/ton. As of the time of publication, the mainstream delivered price for domestic 97% wet fluorspar powder is referenced at 3,300–3,750 CNY/ton.
The monthly capacity utilization rate for anhydrous hydrofluoric acid in September was 57%.
Bullish sentiment in the fluorspar market is strong, though upside potential is limited. The anhydrous hydrofluoric acid market is supported by robust cost pressures.
Anhydrous Hydrofluoric Acid Market:
Sentiment in the domestic AHF market remains cautious today. Trading activity within the market is relatively thin, with participants adopting a wait-and-see approach due to multiple variable factors. On one hand, the resumption status of major northern plants has gradually lost its impact on the market after recent self-adjustments. On the other hand, fluctuations in sulfuric acid prices remain a primary factor supporting calls for price hikes. As of the time of publication, the mainstream delivered price for domestic AHF in October is referenced at 14,500–14,800 CNY/ton, while the Shandong market is referenced at 14,760–15,000 CNY/ton.
Sulfuric Acid:
Today, the Chempricehub index for 98% sulfuric acid stood at 1,368 CNY/ton, unchanged from yesterday, consistent with morning expectations. Regional divergence in the national sulfuric acid market is evident. In Hunan province, supply tightness has led to higher prices. After several rounds of price adjustments, shipments have not been significantly affected, and inventory levels at acid plants remain low. Additionally, mineral acid units in the region are undergoing maintenance, resulting in tight overall supply which strongly supports prices. Acid plants face little pressure to sell and show strong willingness to maintain prices. Today, regional acid prices were raised again by 150–200 CNY/ton. Regarding demand, downstream enterprises are maintaining rigid procurement rhythms. Acceptance of current market prices among local downstream users remains reasonable, with no obvious resistance, and most are replenishing stocks based on need. Traders show strong purchasing enthusiasm, and external shipments are smooth. Under conditions of tight supply, market trading activity is vibrant. However, fertilizer demand in surrounding areas has weakened somewhat, which may constrain future prospects. Currently, the Hunan sulfuric acid market is still significantly influenced by external trends, with short-term movements expected to remain firm. In Henan province, some units in Jiyuan are still under maintenance and have not resumed production, keeping acid enterprise inventories low and providing support to local prices. In Sanmenxia, acid enterprises are operating steadily with normal shipment rhythms, and the latest tender prices from medium-sized local acid plants have increased compared to the previous period. From the demand side, overall demand from the phosphate fertilizer industry is weak, with strong wait-and-see sentiment and cautious purchasing rhythms, leading to significant market bargaining. Looking ahead, domestic acid prices are expected to undergo narrow-range consolidation.
Refrigerants:
Based on the bulk liquid market in East China, offers from major fluorocarbon manufacturers for R134a remain firm, largely consistent with morning market expectations. As of the time of publication, offers from mainstream large-scale manufacturers in East China are referenced at 65,000–70,000 CNY/ton (coordinated domestic and foreign trade), while mainstream market offers in East China are referenced at 63,500–65,000 CNY/ton (ex-factory tax-inclusive), also consistent with morning expectations. Market intelligence indicates that offers from mainstream factories in East China for R134a remain firmly high. Contract orders with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) are being negotiated at elevated levels. Low-cost inventory positions held by channel partners have been largely cleared out, and remaining quota allocations for smaller tail-end factories are limited. Production quotas for H2 2026 are set to increase further, keeping the transaction focus firm. News suggests that the fluorocarbon refrigerant market continues to adhere to "anti-involution" principles, with rigid quota supply remaining tight. Domestic trade offers remain firmly high, and although export markets have seen some pullbacks, they remain resilient at high levels. Chempricehub forecasts that mainstream large-scale manufacturers in East China will continue to offer firm prices, and the short-term R134a fluorocarbon refrigerant market is expected to maintain high-level consolidation.
