**Market Overview of Pure Benzene in the United States**

Published on 2026-10-10

Spot benzene prices in the US Gulf Coast held steady for the second consecutive day on October 7, despite persistent market tightness and broader declines in energy sector prices.

October benzene assessments remained unchanged at 510 cents/gallon DDP. November cargo assessments were flat at 489 cents/gallon DDP, while December assessments held at 465 cents/gallon DDP. FOB prices also remained stable: October benzene was assessed at 513 cents/gallon FOB, November at 492 cents/gallon FOB, and December at 468 cents/gallon FOB.

According to one source, although recent prices have stabilized, the US benzene market remains tight due to sustained strong demand for octane blending components.

The benzene-to-crude oil ratio was calculated at 2.43.

Spot ethylbenzene (EB) assessments for October declined by 25 cents to 500 cents/gallon DDP, while November EB assessments fell by 24 cents to 483 cents/gallon DDP.
