During the National Day holiday, prices in Northwest China declined, while factory prices in other regions remained stable. Following the holiday, some factories raised prices moderately. However, in Northwest China, reduced demand due to downstream maintenance and load reductions led to a continued downward trend. Although inventory levels rose slightly in other regions, overall sales pressure remained low, resulting in divergent pricing trends across different areas. Currently, as prices fall in Northwest China, supply is gradually flowing into regions such as North China. Factories in other regions are maintaining stable prices or implementing slight increases.
Next week, the glacial acetic acid market may experience some softening. On the supply side: Suopei’s second-phase unit has suffered an unexpected malfunction, while Great Wall Chemical’s unit has resumed operations after reducing its load. Overall capacity utilization is expected to remain at around 80%. On the demand side, some downstream units are likely to resume operations, leading to replenishment purchases based on actual needs. Key factors to monitor include changes in regional supply-demand dynamics and the operational status of facilities in Guangdong.
