Ethylene Glycol Industry Weekly Highlights (Aug 21–27, 2026)

  1. As of September 2, 2026, total ethylene glycol arrivals at East China ports reached 39,400 tons, including 21,100 tons at Zhangjiagang and 18,300 tons at Taicang.

  2. As of August 27, total EG inventory at major East China ports stood at 178,000 tons, down 28,000 tons from Monday of this week and down 90,000 tons from last Thursday. In detail: Zhangjiagang 70,000 tons, Taicang 40,000 tons, Jiangyin and Changzhou 29,000 tons, and Shanghai and Changshu 39,000 tons. In terms of shipments this week: Zhangjiagang averaged 6,500–6,600 tons per day, while Taicang averaged 7,000 tons per day.

  3. A 300,000-ton/year EG plant in Shanxi, which was shut down for maintenance in early August, has recently been restarted. Its operating load is gradually being ramped up.
