Chempricehub Key Reminder: Soda Ash Inventory Decline Boosts Prices

Published on 2026-01-03

December 26th News — On December 25th, the total inventory of domestic soda ash manufacturers was 1.4385 million tons, a decrease of 61,900 tons compared to Monday, representing a decline of 4.13%. Among this, light soda ash inventory stood at 735,500 tons, while heavy soda ash inventory was 703,000 tons.

Chempricehub's analysis of soda ash indicates a long-short score of 1.5. The total inventory of domestic soda ash manufacturers decreased by 61,900 tons, a decline of 4.13%, with both light and heavy soda ash inventories showing reductions. This suggests a tightening of supply, which may drive up spot prices. Combined with futures data, the main soda ash contracts (such as the 2605 contract closing at 1,184 yuan/ton, with a change of +6.00) generally rose. Changes in open interest indicate an increase in bullish sentiment in the market, and the reduction in inventory is expected to further support the upward trend in futures prices.
