Acrylonitrile October output rises 4.56% to 387,700 tons despite utilization dip to 73.31%

Published on 2026-10-30

In October, acrylonitrile production increased while capacity utilization slightly declined. Specifically, the domestic acrylonitrile industry's capacity utilization rate stood at 73.31%, down 0.84 percentage points from the previous period and 6.1 percentage points lower than the same period last year. During this cycle, total output reached 387,700 tons, representing a month-on-month increase of 16,900 tons (a rise of 4.56%), though it was down 3.24% year-on-year. The total annual capacity base for acrylonitrile was adjusted to 5.681 million tons/year within the month, reflecting the addition of Sinopec Tianjin New Materials' new 130,000-ton/year acrylonitrile capacity.
