Acrylonitrile Market Morning Brief (2026-09-08)

Published on 2026-09-08

1. Key Points

  1. Sierbang’s acrylonitrile plant has resumed operation with three lines running, while Zhenhai Refining & Chemical is increasing its operating rate.
  2. Acrylonitrile producers have successively cut their quotations.

Core logic: Supply is gradually increasing, while demand remains weak.

2. Price Table

Product Region Sep 4 Sep 7 Change
Acrylonitrile East China port 11600 11100 -4.31%
Shandong market 11300 10750 -4.87%
CFR South Asia 1535 1535 0.00%
Acrylic fiber Staple fiber 1.5D×38 15975 15975 0.00%
Top 3D regular 16800 16800 0.00%
Propylene Shandong region 9300 9040 -2.80%

Notes:

  1. Acrylonitrile and propylene are national-standard premium-grade products.
  2. Acrylonitrile CFR South Asia is in USD/ton; all other prices are in yuan/ton.
  3. The change rate is calculated period-over-period.
  4. Except for Shandong-market acrylonitrile, which is a nearby-delivered cash price including tax, all other RMB prices in the table above are ex-warehouse cash prices including tax.

3. Market Outlook

China’s domestic acrylonitrile market continues to head lower. Incremental supply is gradually coming on stream, while demand remains persistently weak. As a result, producers are actively cutting prices to promote sales, and spot market negotiations and transactions have fallen rapidly.

With Sierbang and Zhenhai adding supply while downstream demand stays soft, domestic acrylonitrile margins will stay compressed until capacity utilization adjusts.
