Acetic Acid Market Prices in South China Declined on October 16

Published on 2026-10-16

Chempricehub, October 16 — On October 16, the acetic acid market in South China softened. Ex-works prices were quoted at approximately RMB 4,650 per ton on an ex-works basis, down by RMB 50 per ton. Weakness in upstream methanol prices, lackluster downstream purchasing activity, poor trading volumes among distributors, and bearish market sentiment have contributed to the continued weak trend in the acetic acid market.
