What is driving the recent price recovery in small-category vitamins like inositol?
Inositol prices have shown notable upward momentum recently, alongside vitamins B3, K, and B5. The recovery stems from two forces: supply-side discipline, with major producers halting price quotes to firm up the market, and genuine demand improvement, particularly from overseas buyers whose orders have strengthened since January. Industry attention is now focused on the supply-demand evolution of inositol and vitamin B5. On the supply side, capacity restructuring is accelerating—some overseas producers have effectively exited due to compliance issues, creating structural gaps. China's inositol capacity stands at roughly 18,500 tonnes annually, with another 8,000 tonnes planned. This tightening supply picture, combined with recovering export demand, supports a firmer pricing environment through 2025.

Don't overlook the feedstock angle. Inositol production relies on rice bran and corn processing byproducts. Corn prices in China have been volatile, and any sustained rise in raw material costs will reinforce producer pricing power. Track corn deep-processing margins as a leading indicator for inositol price sustainability.
