What is driving global demand growth for rutin and quercetin ingredients?
Global quercetin demand is expanding fast, with the market valued at USD 260 million in 2020 and forecast to reach USD 460 million by 2027, a 6.53% CAGR. Dietary supplements dominate, accounting for 73.68% of all quercetin-containing products in 2020. In US natural sales channels, quercetin climbed from 7th to 5th place in cardiovascular health between 2021 and 2022, with sales rising from USD 810,000 to USD 2.66 million, a 229% three-year gain. Rutin trihydrate sits upstream of this trend: it is the preferred feedstock for enzymatic conversion into high-purity quercetin, and it also appears directly in systemic enzyme blends alongside bromelain and papain.

Worth noting that rutin's own demand base is broader than the quercetin story. It is a vitamin P bioflavonoid used in thyroid support formulas and as a color stabilizer in food. Buyers should track both the supplement channel and the hydrolysis feedstock pull, since they can diverge.
