What downstream demand will drive Advanced Materials growth over the next decade?
Demand for Advanced Materials is increasingly tied to a handful of strategic industries. New energy vehicles, power equipment and 5G communications underpin modified PPO and engineering plastics. Aerospace, low-altitude economy and robotics are pulling high-performance carbon fiber and PEEK, where per-unit consumption is small but volumes scale fast. Semiconductors and AI computing drive hafnium, tantalum, indium phosphide and optical materials. Lightweighting and decarbonization goals reinforce these trends. The risk is timing: several downstream markets are still early-stage, so demand may arrive slower than announced capacity, creating pockets of oversupply before growth catches up.

The demand story is credible but lumpy. Robotics and low-altitude applications could be transformative, yet commercialization timelines remain uncertain. Producers that align capacity additions with verified customer orders will outperform those betting purely on forecast growth.
