What are the main downstream demand drivers for sulfuric acid in China?
Sulfuric acid demand is anchored by fertilizers, especially phosphate production, followed by metal processing, paper, fiber and a growing electronics segment. The fertilizer link is the swing factor: when phosphate producers run at high rates, acid offtake is firm, and when they cut back, the market softens quickly. Beyond traditional uses, electronic-grade acid for wafer cleaning and etching is the fastest-growing niche, though volumes are small relative to industrial grades. This dual structure means acid pricing reflects both bulk agricultural cycles and a thin, high-value specialty layer that behaves almost independently.

Treat the two segments as separate markets. Industrial acid is a commodity driven by fertilizer run rates and sulfur cost, with thin margins and regional logistics constraints. Electronic-grade is a qualification game where volume is tiny but price and stickiness are high. A producer's blended economics depend heavily on how much specialty volume it can actually certify and hold.
