As of October 14, 2026, the total methanol port inventory in China stood at 367,200 tons, an increase of 62,100 tons from the previous period. Specifically, inventories in East China decreased by 31,600 tons due to drawdowns, while inventories in South China increased by 93,700 tons due to accumulation.
This week saw a rebound in methanol port inventories. During the reporting period, 139,100 tons were recorded as visible arrivals from foreign vessels, with all cargo currently being discharged fully accounted for. Given that inventory levels are already at historical lows and absolute prices remain high, ex-factory withdrawals from major storage facilities along the Yangtze River in Jiangsu Province weakened this week; only two foreign vessels discharged into peripheral warehouses. In Zhejiang Province, traditional rigid demand consumption continued.
South China ports experienced significant inventory accumulation. In Guangdong Province, both imported and domestic supplies replenished stocks. Truck-based withdrawals from major storage areas remained moderate, with some volumes transferred via ship for re-export, leading to a continued rise in inventories. In Fujian Province, downstream rigid demand consumption persisted, but with foreign vessels discharging and accounted for in inventory statistics, supply increases led to substantial inventory buildup.

Sample Description: The methanol port inventory sample covers real-time physical methanol stock levels within 40 domestic storage terminals, representing a sample coverage rate of 75%.
Terminology Explanation: This refers to the total physical inventory of specific commodities actually stored in warehouses or tanks at ports over a given period. It includes goods within bonded zones but excludes cargo on vessels at anchor. "Visible inventory" and "visible discharge" refer to stocks held within the sampled storage terminals and volumes discharged into these sampled terminals, respectively; non-visible terms apply conversely. Currently, our network's port inventory statistics do not include Tianjin, Lianyungang, Dalian, Laizhou, Longkou, Nanjing Qingjiang Terminal, Nantong Sinochem Terminal, Shanghai Oriental Wharf, Shanghai Vopak Caojing, Zhejiang Zhoushan Yushan Wharf, Sinochem Yangzhou, Guangdong Huizhou Dagang, or Guangdong Maoming Bohe.
Statistical Scope: Chempricehub Information's methanol port inventory data reflects real-time stock levels in methanol storage terminals every Wednesday. These are primary statistical data points, released at 14:00 on each Wednesday during working days.
