As of October 28, 2026, total methanol port inventory in China stood at 353,800 tons, a decrease of 10,000 tons from the previous period. Specifically, inventory in East China increased by 6,300 tons (accumulation), while inventory in South China decreased by 16,300 tons (destocking).
This week, methanol port inventories saw a slight decline due to typhoon impacts slowing down unloading speeds for foreign vessels. In Jiangsu Province, withdrawals from major social warehouses along the Yangtze River were steady. Although there were some export shipments, continuous replenishment via domestic trucking and barges led to a marginal accumulation of inventory. In Zhejiang Province, domestic barge arrivals supplemented supply, but consumption driven by end-user demand resulted in destocking. South China ports continued to see inventory reductions. In Guangdong Province, supply was primarily maintained through domestic vessel arrivals; however, withdrawal rates via trucking from mainstream social warehouse zones remained moderate, leading to a slight decrease in inventory. In Fujian Province, only one foreign vessel arrived, and downstream essential consumption drove inventory levels down.
