Weekly Production Statistics of Caprolactam Enterprises in China (October 16–22, 2026)

Published on 2026-10-22

This week (October 16–22, 2026), caprolactam production reached 121,500 tons, a decrease of 1,300 tons from the previous period.

Sample Description:
The caprolactam production and capacity utilization data provided by Chempricehub cover the total output of all caprolactam producers in China. The sample includes 18 domestic caprolactam plants, representing 100% coverage.

Definitions:

  • Production Volume: Refers to the actual quantity of goods produced by manufacturers over a specific period that meets relevant standards. This is measured in terms of weight or volume under a defined unit system (i.e., actual output).
  • Capacity Utilization Rate: Indicates the extent to which a company’s production capacity is being used, also known as operating load. It is generally calculated as the ratio of product output or raw material processing volume to effective capacity. (At the end of each year, Chempricehub excludes capacity that has been continuously idle for two calendar years or more from "effective capacity," classifying it as "zombie capacity." Such capacity is not included in the denominator when calculating the capacity utilization rate.)

Statistical Scope:
The statistical period for Chempricehub’s caprolactam production and capacity utilization data runs from Friday of the preceding week to Thursday of the current week. Data is released at 17:00 on Thursdays during business days.

Caprolactam output dipped 1,300 tons to 121.5k this week. With 18 plants reporting, lower capacity utilization could tighten nylon feedstock supply. I’m watching if reduced run rates support margins or if weak downstrea..
