Weekly Production Statistics for Chinese Caprolactam Enterprises (October 9–15, 2026)

Published on 2026-10-15

This week (October 9–15, 2026), caprolactam production totaled 122,800 tons, a decrease of 1,900 tons from the previous period.

Sample Description:
Chempricehub’s statistics on caprolactam production and capacity utilization reflect the total output of all caprolactam producers in China. The data covers 18 domestic caprolactam plants, representing 100% sample coverage.

Definitions:

  • Production Volume: Refers to the actual quantity of goods produced by manufacturing enterprises over a specific period that meets relevant standards. It denotes actual physical output (measured in weight or volume under standard units) rather than commercial transaction volumes.
  • Capacity Utilization Rate: Indicates the extent to which an enterprise’s production capacity is being used, also known as operating load. It is generally calculated as the ratio of product output or raw material processing volume to effective capacity. Note: At the end of each year, Chempricehub excludes capacities that have been continuously idle for two calendar years or more from the definition of "effective capacity." These are classified as "zombie capacity" and are not included in the denominator when calculating the capacity utilization rate.

Statistical Methodology:
The statistical period for Chempricehub’s caprolactam production and capacity utilization data runs from Friday of the previous week through Thursday of the current week. Data is released at 17:00 on Thursdays during working days.

Caprolactam output dipped 1,900 tons to 122,800 tons this week. With capacity utilization tightening across the 18 domestic plants, feedstock costs may stabilize if downstream nylon demand remains robust. I expect margin..
