During the week of October 2–8, 2026, domestic caprolactam production reached 124,700 metric tons, an increase of 400 metric tons compared to the previous period.
Sample Description:
Chempricehub’s statistics on caprolactam production and capacity utilization cover total output from all Chinese caprolactam producers, including 18 domestic plants, with a sample coverage rate of 100%.
Definitions:
- Production Volume: Refers to the actual quantity of standard-compliant goods produced by enterprises over a specified period. It represents physical output measured in weight or volume under defined units (i.e., actual production).
- Capacity Utilization Rate: Indicates the extent to which a company’s production capacity is being used, also known as operating load. It is calculated as the ratio of product output or raw material processing volume to effective capacity.
(Note: At year-end, Chempricehub excludes capacities that have been continuously shut down for two calendar years or more from the effective capacity base; such facilities are classified as “zombie capacity” and are not included in capacity utilization calculations.)
Statistical Methodology:
The statistical period for Chempricehub’s caprolactam production and capacity utilization data runs from Friday of the preceding week through Thursday of the current week. Data is released at 5:00 PM on Thursdays (business days).
