This week (September 11–17, 2026), caprolactam production reached 120,100 tonnes, an increase of 2,300 tonnes from the previous period.
Sample Description: Chempricehub’s statistics on caprolactam production and capacity utilization cover total output from all Chinese caprolactam producers. The sample includes 18 domestic caprolactam plants, representing 100% coverage of the industry.
Definitions:
- Production Volume: Refers to the actual quantity of goods meeting relevant standards produced by manufacturers within a specific period. This is measured in physical units such as weight or volume under defined metrics, rather than commercial value.
- Capacity Utilization Rate: Indicates the extent to which a company’s production capacity is being used, also known as operating load. It is generally calculated as the ratio of product output or raw material processing volume to effective capacity. (At the end of each year, Chempricehub excludes capacities that have been continuously shut down for two calendar years or more from the definition of "effective capacity," classifying them as "zombie capacity" and excluding them from the denominator when calculating capacity utilization rates.)
Statistical Scope: Chempricehub tracks caprolactam production and capacity utilization over a weekly cycle running from Friday of the previous week to Thursday of the current week. Data is released at 5:00 PM on Thursdays during business days.
