Weekly Data Statistics on Production Profit of China's Octanol Sample (October 10–15, 2026)

Published on 2026-10-15

According to Chempricehub data, domestic n-butanol incurred a cost loss of 219 yuan/ton this week, narrowing by 81 yuan/ton compared to the previous week. Feedstock propylene prices rose before consolidating in a range-bound manner, while n-butanol prices gradually increased, leading to a progressive reduction in the negative margin (cost inversion). As of this week, based on spot propylene prices, the theoretical gross margin for n-butanol stood at a loss of 60 yuan/ton.

Sample Notes:

  • Calculation Method: N-butanol profit is defined as the difference between the ex-factory price of n-butanol and its production cost. Chempricehub tracks profits for n-butanol produced via the oxo-synthesis process in Shandong Province.
  • Data Definition & Schedule: The weekly average n-butanol profit reported by Chempricehub refers to the mainstream ex-factory gross margin in Shandong Province. The statistical period runs from Friday of the preceding week to Thursday of the current week. Data is released on Thursdays between 13:30 and 17:00 (working days only).
