Weekly Data Analysis of Sulfuric Acid Sample Costs and Profits in China (October 10–15, 2026)

Published on 2026-10-16

I. Qualitative Analysis of Sample Cost and Profit Trends

This week, liquid sulfur prices in the East China region experienced a slight adjustment. The reference price for liquid sulfur in East China was 6,485 RMB/ton. Based on this price, the raw material cost for producing sulfur-based acid is approximately 2,161.67 RMB/ton. While steam generated from sulfur offsets some expenses, when including costs such as water, electricity, labor, and equipment depreciation, the total production cost of sulfur-based acid stands at 2,066.85 RMB/ton. The current reference price for sulfur-based acid in East China is 1,950 RMB/ton. Among the three types of acid production methods, sulfur-based acid shows a profit margin of -227.43 RMB/ton, pyrite-based acid has a profit margin of -92 RMB/ton, and smelter gas acid yields a profit of 1,000 RMB/ton.

II. Forecast Analysis of Sample Cost Trends

The domestic spot market for sulfur at Yangtze River ports exhibited an overall weak and significantly downward trend this week. Driven by multiple bearish factors—including declining international transaction prices, increasing port inventories, and consecutive price cuts by certain large refineries to attract orders due to inventory pressure—prices across various regional markets for sulfur generally declined.

III. Product Sample Trends and Price Comparison

Raw material prices have undergone minor adjustments, leading to slight fluctuations in recent profit margins. Future changes in costs and prices may result in continuous adjustments to profit levels.
