Spot benzene prices on the U.S. Gulf Coast remained steady on October 30, despite strength across the broader energy complex amid ongoing supply disruptions in the Middle East.
November benzene was assessed at 439 cents/gallon DDP, unchanged day-on-day; December at 434 cents/gallon DDP, steady; and January at 429 cents/gallon DDP, also steady. On an FOB basis, November benzene was assessed at 442 cents/gallon, flat day-on-day; December at 437 cents/gallon, steady; and January at 432 cents/gallon, also steady. The benzene-to-crude ratio stood at 1.77 for the day. November ethylbenzene (EB) was assessed at 371 cents/gallon DDP, up 7 cents day-on-day; December EB was at 361 cents/gallon DDP, also up 7 cents day-on-day.
Crude oil futures settled higher, supported by persistent supply disruptions and stronger-than-expected U.S. GDP growth. Market attention remains focused on regional geopolitical tensions and vessel movements along key shipping routes in the Middle East, with supply-side risks continuing to be a primary concern.
