Taking the Shandong region as the benchmark, today’s propylene oxide price closed at 11,300 CNY/ton, a quarter-on-quarter increase that aligned with morning expectations.

Today, the domestic propylene oxide market adjusted upwards. Supply-side plants remained largely stable, and ongoing shipments from operating factories continued smoothly. Offers were gradually raised. Additionally, raw material propylene prices rose further to high levels, liquid chlorine rebounded, and cost support was strong. Although some new orders from downstream demand softened slightly, buyers continued to follow up due to the strength of PO prices, resulting in decent market activity.

  1. Production Dynamics

Propylene oxide capacity utilization stands at 73.93%. Currently, plants such as Zhenhai Phase 2, Zhonghai Fine Chemical, and Guoen are shut down, maintaining steady cost support.

  1. Price Forecast

Looking ahead, short-term market fundamentals remain supportive. New afternoon offers continue to rise. Tomorrow, over the weekend, there may be a slight pullback for digestion. Key factors to watch include cost dynamics and downstream demand feedback.

  1. Related Products

Propylene Market: Today, Shandong propylene prices surged significantly, closing at a mainstream reference range of 10,500–10,600 CNY/ton, with an average of 10,550 CNY/ton, up 255 CNY/ton from the previous business day. International crude oil prices continued their upward trend, providing solid cost floor support. Regional propylene supply was tight, leading to wider offer increases. Downstream follow-up was generally good; some auction premiums persisted, driving actual transaction prices higher.

Liquid Chlorine Market: In Shandong, instability in upstream units reduced supply. Enterprise inventories remained manageable, shipments were acceptable, and prices held firm. Current liquid chlorine prices are 300–350 CNY/ton in the Lubei region, 200–250 CNY/ton in Lunan and Southwest Shandong, and 300–350 CNY/ton in the Jiaodong Peninsula region.

Flexible Polyether Foam Market: Price updates for flexible polyether foam: Shandong is referenced at 11,900–12,300 CNY/ton (cash); East China negotiations are at 11,900–12,300 CNY/ton (cash, delivered); South China negotiations are at 12,000–12,400 CNY/ton (cash, delivered). Specific negotiations apply. In the early session, the spot market consolidated at high levels. Downstream inquiry activity weakened, and buying interest within the market was thin. Suppliers maintained firm pricing for new orders, causing the market center to consolidate at highs, though actual transaction volume was poor.
