On October 27, the East China pure benzene spot market faced downward pressure, with negotiation references ranging from 10,350 to 10,580 yuan/ton, largely consistent with morning forecasts. Weakening crude oil prices significantly dampened spot market sentiment, and expectations of sluggish demand weighed on prices. However, low inventory levels and cost support persisted, leading to a rebound after initial declines.

  2. Price Forecast

With month-end deliveries concluded, support from low inventories weakened alongside sluggish demand, releasing upward pressure on futures prices. However, strengthening crude oil prices provided robust cost support; therefore, pure benzene is expected to trend stronger.

  1. Related Products

On October 27, domestic styrene prices declined. Mainstream spot transaction prices in Jiangsu closed at 11,500–11,730 yuan/ton, averaging 345 yuan/ton lower than the previous day. Falling crude oil prices weakened cost-side support. Combined with cautious downstream procurement, this pressured the market. Nevertheless, port inventories remained at low levels and spot circulation was tight, prompting short-covering buyers to enter the market and strengthen basis spreads.
