[Resin Materials] Can anyone share what the different Loctite adhesive models they've used are for?

Loctite is an industry-leading adhesive brand with a huge range of glues. Different series and models vary a lot in performance, compatible materials, and use cases, covering everything from household repairs and craft DIY to industrial assembly, mechanical threadlocking, and sealing/curing. A lot of people get overwhelmed and don't know which one to buy. So let me walk you through the types and uses so you can understand them quickly and avoid buying the wrong thing.

· Cyanoacrylate (instant) adhesives: emergency repair and quick positioning
Instant adhesives are mainly cyanoacrylate, and they bond well to most materials. They're best for emergency repairs and assembly positioning, and are widely used on electronic components and home appliances. They cure very fast—initial set in just seconds—making them a common choice for homes and businesses.
As a top global adhesive brand, Henkel Loctite offers several types of instant adhesives:
General purpose: strong and suitable for most applications, including acidic surfaces (like chromate or galvanized metal) and porous substrates (wood, paper, leather, cork, fabric), such as LOCTITE® 401.
Toughened: elastomer-modified adhesive for applications needing vibration, impact, and moisture resistance, such as LOCTITE® 435.
Flexible: for bonding materials that bend or deform easily, plus flexible components and acidic surfaces.
Heat-resistant: for applications needing fast gap filling plus high-temperature, moisture, and vibration resistance, such as LOCTITE® 4204.
Low-odor/low-bloom: low-volatility adhesive for applications needing a clean appearance, low blooming, and low odor, such as LOCTITE® 460.

· Anaerobic adhesives: threadlocking, sealing, and retaining of components
Anaerobic adhesives cure when air is excluded and they contact metal surfaces. They're used for threadlocking, pipe sealing, flange sealing, and retaining components. Depending on the application, they're usually divided into threadlockers, pipe thread sealants, flange sealants, and retaining compounds.

  1. Threadlockers
As the name suggests, threadlockers are an important locking tool to prevent mechanical threads from loosening. Machines inevitably wear and loosen over day after day of operation, and traditional threadlocking can't avoid the vibration problems caused by gaps—threadlockers were made to solve exactly this. When choosing, pick by strength.
Low strength: mainly for adjustment screws, calibration screws, instruments, and gauges. They need frequent disassembly and can be removed with hand tools, such as LOCTITE® 222.
Medium strength: for machine tools and presses, pumps and compressors, fixing bolts and gearboxes. They need routine disassembly and can be removed with hand tools, such as Henkel Loctite's star product LOCTITE® 243.
High strength: more for permanent locking of components, heavy equipment, motors, and pumps. They rarely need disassembly and require local heating before removal, such as LOCTITE® 263.

  2. Pipe thread sealants
Pipe thread sealants fill the gaps between threaded parts to provide instant low-pressure sealing, prevent liquid and gas leaks, and avoid losses from unexpected downtime.

Loctite 352 UV adhesive specs Loctite 352 UV adhesive (LOCTITE AA 352M) is a one-part, UV-curing modified acrylate adhesive, often called Loctite 352 glue in industrial selection. It's mainly used for bonding, coating, or sealing metals, glass, and similar materials, and after curing it has good resistance to vibration and impact. Here are the key parameters from the Loctite 352 TDS so users can quickly understand its performance and use conditions. Product overview Loctite 352 glue is a modified acrylate UV adhesive. It's a transparent, pale amber liquid, one-part, no mixing required, medium viscosity. It cures by UV light and can be secondarily cured with heat or an activator. Typical applications include bonding electronic devices, appliance parts, and decorative components, and it can also be used to bond, seal, or coat metal and glass parts. Core features: Chemical type: modified acrylate Appearance: transparent pale amber liquid Composition: one-part, no mixing Cure: UV curing Secondary cure: heat and activator Advantage: fast production cure Applications: bonding, coating, sealing Parameter quick view Item / Parameter Product name: LOCTITE AA 352M / Loctite 352 Chemical type: modified acrylate Appearance (uncured): transparent pale amber liquid Composition: one-part, no mixing Density @25°C: 1.06 Refractive index, ASTM D542: 1.48 Color, Gardner scale: ≤6 Viscosity, Brookfield RVT, 25°C: 15,000–26,000 mPa·s (spindle 6, 20 rpm) Flash point: see MSDS UV cure wavelength: 365 nm; full surface cure in air requires 250 nm Heat cure: 30 minutes at 121°C Activator cure: with LOCTITE 7075 activator, about 4 minutes to handling strength for small gaps, fully cured in 72 hours Typical post-cure test: 30 seconds per side at 365 nm, 100 mW/cm², then 24 hours at 22°C Material properties before cure Before curing, Loctite 352 glue is a transparent pale amber liquid with density about 1.06 g/cm³, refractive index about 1.48, and Gardner color ≤6. Its Brookfield RVT viscosity at 25°C is 15,000–26,000 mPa·s, a medium-viscosity UV adhesive suitable for dispensing, coating, and sealing. For flash point, check the MSDS. Cure method and speed 1) UV cure Loctite 352 UV adhesive cures under 365 nm UV light. To fully cure surfaces exposed to air, 250 nm UV light is also needed. Cure speed depends on the UV intensity reaching the product surface. Debonding time reference: Light source / Condition / Debonding time
