Petroleum benzene output was 352,700 tons, up 10,900 tons from the previous cycle, an increase of 3.19%. Capacity utilization was 58.56%, up 1.65 percentage points from the previous cycle. During the cycle, units such as those of Heilongjiang Chemical and Gulei Petrochemical, along with Sinopec-SK's cracking unit, were restarted. With the newly built Dushanzi-Tarim cracking unit included in the capacity calculation, total petroleum benzene capacity has been revised to 28.651 million tons/year.
The domestic benzene hydrogenation unit operating rate was 62.59%, down 1.48% week-on-week. China's hydrogenated benzene weekly output this week was 83,000 tons, down by 2,000 tons from the previous week. During the week, Xinyang reduced its operating load, Tangshan Zhongrun temporarily shut down one unit, Puyang Shengyuan stopped its unit, and Henan Shouchuang and Shanxi Lubao restarted their units.
This week, capacity utilization among major downstream segments—styrene, caprolactam, and adipic acid—decreased from the previous period, while phenol and aniline utilization increased. In styrene, Jingbo and Xinpu units were shut down for maintenance. In caprolactam, some units at Pingmei Shenma, Yangmei Taihua, and Xuyang continued to reduce loads. In phenol, Lihuayi Weiyuan Phase I, Jiangsu Ruiheng, and Guangxi Huayi phenol-acetone units have been restarting successively. In aniline, one East China plant raised its load, while Dongying Huatai experienced a temporary short shutdown. Adipic acid units showed no change.
For the next period, taking recent maintenance and restart activities into account, styrene, caprolactam, and adipic acid capacity utilization is expected to decline, while aniline and phenol utilization is expected to rise.
